On Tuesday, January 27 in the year of Our Lord 2026 I got called out with a Direct Message on X from none other than @BDubs1776:
"Moose. It is time for you to DM 1e. In UMBROS. Become the Booker you were meant to be."
And though I've interviewed the #BROSR on my tiny YouTube Podcast and played in Trollopulous, I wasn't DMming an ongoing 1:1 Campaign myself. I should have said no. I don't have time for this. Aside from a deep dive on Character Creation, I never learned the DM side of 1e.
But I said yes. For fun. For a chance to co-DM with the legendary BDubs. For a chance to share the journey with people like me, curiously following along, and wondering how the sausage is made.
Who is my audience?
Session reports for my players. Advice for those wanting to go to school on my mistakes. Prep notes for me to look back on.
Should I keep it going here? Start a Substack? Just do it on YouTube? Should it all be free? Or should I paywall it to keep out the horde of detractors and anklebiters who only want to countersignal?
